Ancelotti: "It's going to be a special day and we have to mark it with a win"

NEWS | 11/09/2021

"Camavinga has come into the squad well and has real quality and motivation", added the madridista coach.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke to the press online on the build-up to the clash with Celta on LaLiga matchday four to be played at the Santiago Bernabéu (Sunday, 9:00pm CEST): "It's going to be a special day for all the madridistas and for us because we're back at our stadium, something which always helps the team. We have to mark this special day with a good performance and all three points. That's the aim. First, to play well and put on a good show and the most important thing is to take three points".

"The Real Madrid fans' demands are clear and simple: they want to see a player who fights, is motivated and gives it their all on the pitch. If the players give it all they can, they can rest easy. The whole squad know very well what Real Madrid fans demand".

Possible debut for Camavinga
"Camavinga has come back strong. He played with his national team and he's excited and motivated to be here. He's come into the squad well, he's got real quality. Of course, he'll be available for the game".

Marcelo's return
“He's fine, he's trained well. He's recovered from his problems, as has Mendy. Miguel is all good and there's real competition in that position. We've also got Modrić and Nacho back. The squad looks in good shape, we have strong options and can do great things this year".

His work
"I have more experience than when I left. After going away in 2015, I was at Munich, Napoli and Everton. I have more experience and I'm so excited to be back. I have to enjoy the experience without looking back in order to improve, you have to look forward because football changes and there's always something to learn".

Conmebol international fixtures
"They didn't train much yesterday and I have to wait for today's session. I don't think there will be any problem with them playing tomorrow. If any of them are tired, it's best for them not to play, but it looks like they've recovered well from the trip".

We're back at our stadium, which has always helped the team.

"It's important for LaLiga to deal with the postponed games because there's a scheduling problem which must be resolved by FIFA and UEFA. It's a heavily loaded calendar and I hope they can sort it out. I think it's a good thing LaLiga are working on the issue and decisions have to be made to look after the health of the players. Sometimes, not playing games can be a good thing because the players have too many games and it's an issue that must be resolved sooner rather than later".

The midfield
"Competition is tough because I have so many top players. They're among the best in the world and that's not just me saying it. Casemiro, Kroos, Modrić, Valverde, who is very young but boasts spectacular quality… We've got IscoCamavingaCeballos, who is coming back. It's a very complete squad and they have to be patient because not everyone can play. Patience is hugely important. It's also vital they accept my decisions because the competition is intense".

Kroos' recovery
"He's improving all the time and it's crucial we don't rush him. The best thing would be for him to recover as soon as possible and I think he'll be back with us soon enough, without having been hasty".

"He's fine. He played with Belgium and felt good. He's getting back to being the player we all know he can be. I'm happy and excited for him. I'm sure he'll get back to producing his best performances".

Bale's Bernabéu return
"He had a strong start to the season because he trained well but he's still not at his best. He must improve. He's available tomorrow but whether or not he plays depends on physical matters. I have to assess all the players who have been in action during the international break".

"He asked to leave at the end of the window but no solution was found. He couldn't find a team and he's here with his desire, motivation and fight still intact because that's the only way to work your way into this team. He has the same chances as the others and the crucial thing will be his desire, motivation and commitment".

End of the transfer window
"Mbappé is a great player and he stayed at PSG. We wish him the best of luck but we're only focused on our squad".

Ceferin's comments
"I thought it was fairly odd for the head of the organisation to label the president of a club that has won 13 Champions League titles incompetent. What does that make the rest then...?".
