"It will be a tough game against a good team, but we will do our best to be ready and fight for the win", he told the official UEFA media.
Raphäel Varane spoke to the official UEFA media about the return of the Champions League, in which Real Madrid will visit Manchester City in the second leg of the round of 16 (7 August, 9pm CEST). The defender said: "The match will be different because its behind close doors. We always want to win because we are Real Madrid. We've won a lot of league matches in a row and that's given us a lot of confidence".

"We always go into these games wanting to win and with the necessary determination. It'll be a tough match against a good team. We'll be prepared and we'll do everything we can to be ready and fight for the win, as we always do in this competition. We are focused on that".
"We're aware of the excellent work we've done over the past few years. It doesn't happen often. We try to remember those days to keep working hard and try to take something out of that experience. We know that little things can make a difference in games like this".
Club DNA
"We've got a lot of experience in these big matches, so we can feel confident. We're just as determined as before. Our goal is to win, and that's partly due to the DNA of this club. We always want to put the past aside, move on and win".

LaLiga was a big effort by the whole team.

"Zidane conveys confidence and composure. It's important because it shows that the coach is behind me and he also gives me advice. He pushed me to take risks and play higher up the pitch so that I can try to make more passes and allow the team to play more attacking football".
"He's in the best form of his life. I'm not surprised by his qualities. Everyone knows them. He's very confident, he' s one of the best. He's our leader in attack, he brings a lot to us and he doesn't just score goals. His movements and quality allow us to create in attack and help the team. He's a player who combines experience, quality and physicality. He provides a lot of assists and creates chances. He is a very complete number nine".
The 34th league title
"We prepared under different conditions than we were used to. We needed to work in an orderly fashion to be physically fit and ready to play matches every three days. That was our mentality. It wasn't easy with the break, but we managed to adapt and maintain the winning streak. It was a huge effort from the whole team and we're happy to have won the league.
"I'm a more complete player than when I came here. Every season I try to work on my weaknesses as I work on my strengths. I try to be better in the build up play, in the one-on-ones and also on the tactical level. I always try to be better and in the last nine years I think I have been improving. I think I'm more mature now".
