“We hope to put on a great display in front of our fans and try to keep a clean sheet”, he added.
Zinedine Zidane appeared in the press room at Real Madrid City on the day before his team's clash with Betis. The Whites' coach discussed the LaLiga match day 12 meeting at the Santiago Bernabéu (Saturday, 9:00pm CET): “Every team comes here to play and get a result. That's to be expected. We have to be ready for it and well aware it's going to be a tough match. We have to be at our best because every game is different and we know we have to be at 100% if we're going to take all three points”.

“We try and put in a good performance every time we play and try to keep a clean sheet. That's important to us and tomorrow we've got another chance to put on a good display at home and in front of our fans to pick up three more points”.

Love from the fans
“I've been through an awful lot at Real Madrid and the fans have always treated me well. I haven't got about word to say about the Spanish people ever since I arrived here. Not just in the football world, but also in my private life. Having that support is hugely significant for me, I have great respect for it. When you come in, the people welcome you and really help you out. I'm very pleased I can live in this city and work for this club".
“He's a very young player with a great future, and a good present too. He's doing a great job, it's no surprise to me. He's an important player in a squad of 25 first-team players”.

“It's old news. He's here and back out on the pitch working to get fit again. We're behind him, trying to get him back with the team as soon as possible. He's here with us and back training. He's back from his trip and is much better, but he's still not available for selection. He looks in good shape to me”.

“We can all see he's playing better. Perhaps he could score a bit more often but we're not concerned. We're happy with what he's doing on the pitch and he's getting better every day. Players of his quality can see things that others simply aren't capable of seeing. I don't think he's been timid, quite the opposite. Everyone wants to see him get better and I think he's improving every day. We'll all be happy with him but we have to take it easy”.

I always try and play the best possible team in every game.

“Within a squad, there are always some players who are in better form and others not playing quite so well. I don't have a plan A, nor B, nor C. I put together a group every three days and I hate leaving players out. My mentality won't change. I always try and put out the best team possible in every game”.

Marcelo's anxiety ahead of the Kiev final
“I wasn't aware, but I'm sure it's stressful ahead of playing in a big Champions League or World Cup final. That's to be expected. I lived that as a player but it says a lot about him that when the time came, he switched on and focused only on the match. A bit of stress is normal ahead of a game but when it begins, that's it”.

El Clásico postponement
“We play when we're told we have to play. It's been delayed and we prepared well for the Leganés game with a bit more time. El Clásico will be played on the 18th and it'll be a great game”.

Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo
“Every player knows they have to be ready. Vinicius Jr. has to keep working hard. He's most comfortable out on the left wing and at his age he has to play where he feels best. He's got the quality to play in other positions too. It's a normal part of the process to not make the squad on occasions and he has to keep working. We have 25 players and choices are made for every game. There are leagues that allow all the players to be part of a squad but that's not the case here at the moment. Rodrygo is a quiet guy, he wants to work hard, but he's 18 and we have to take it easy with him. He's a member of this squad and he's got character and real quality. I think he's quite calm”.

“It's a difficult position and he players it very well. There aren't many players with his qualities that play like he does. I'm not sure it's his best spell, but if that's what he said, that's great. We'll try and make sure he carries on in this vein”.

“He's fitting in nicely. He's got immense quality and he's beginning to show his class at Betis. I'm not surprised he got the goal the other day and clinched a win for Betis”.

PSG and Mbappé
“I'm never surprised by what he's achieving because he's one of the best in the world. His statistics show that, but that won't change anything because he's playing in a team full of quality. We have to be careful with the whole team because they're playing at the top level. We've got a while before that game yet. There are others to come first and we have to focus on those”.
