"Playing for Real Madrid is a massive responsibility, I'm pleased to have got a goal", stated Rodrygo.
Real Madrid opened their  International Champions Cup against Bayern Munich and Kubo reflected on the first run-out of pre-season in the following terms: "We've lost our first game and I'm unhappy about that. However, I'm really pleased to have made my Real Madrid debut".

"There aren't many Japanese players in the European leagues and I'm the only one at Real Madrid, that's why I love the fact that there's so much affection towards me. I'm happy to be flying the flag for Japan at Real Madrid, but I've only played one game and have to keep going. A club like Real Madrid has many fans in every country and that gives you a real boost".

First few weeks
"My teammates are really friendly, they talk to me lots and make me feel at home. What I've been most struck by is the quality of all of the players and I must mention Zidane's menality as a player too".
Rodrygo: "I'm pleased to have scored"
"I'm really happy to have pulled on the Real Madrid shirt, regardless of the result. I'm really happy at having scored. Playing for Real Madrid is a massive responsibility, but I have to be ready at all times and I'll always continue to work hard".
"What I've been most surprised by are the training sessions, we're talking about the best players in the world and I'm delighted to be playing with them. Some new players have come in and we've got to get up to speed and work with the whole team, that's the most important thing".
