Castilla were unable to pick up any points on their trip to the Municipal de Pasarón, one of the most complicated grounds in the group, where the home side are undefeated. José Manuel Díaz’s side lost 3-0 against Pontevedra, but finished the first half of the season in the promotion places. The reserves went for the game from the off. With barely 2 minutes on the clock, Martin tried his luck with a free kick from distance that was collected by Edu Sousa. The Whites tried to play the ball out from the back despite the poor state of the pitch. Meanwhile, the home side pressed high looking to force a mistake.

After a few minutes of both teams getting a feel for each other, they looked to press on but without creating clear chances. In the 19th, a good move from Fidalgo ended in a shot from Cristo, but it was ruled out for off side. The end-to-end football favoured Pontevedra and in the 28th minute, Fran García kept out a dangerous effort from Javi Pazos. However, two minutes later, Arruabarrena made it 1-0 after several rebounds and a save from Luca. The break came with the home side leading, but there were 45 minutes to turn the match around. Castilla came out of the blocks flying after the restart but Pontevedra were causing problems down their left wing but Luca stepped up, keeping out a dangerous effort from the edge of the area and another in a one-on-one.

José Manuel Díaz turned to his bench and brought on Pedro in place of Seoane. Despite the Galician outfit pushing on, the game had become an open affair. The visitors simply had to go all out in search of an equaliser and that meant leaving gaps in behind. In the 68th minute, Romay found himself clean through on Luca, who once again proved to be the saviour. However, the Madrid shotstopper failed to prevent the hosts from doubling their advantage in the 73rd minute, when Arruabarrena headed home a fine cross from Álex. Castilla then took their final throws of the dice, with the injured López making way for Dani Fernández and Augusto coming on for Baeza. Madrid sought to reduce the deficit and Zabarte came close to doing so with a headed effort. However, Javi Pazos struck in injury time to make it 3-0 and round off the scoring. The second half of the campaign gets under way with next weekend's trip to Las Palmas Atlético.
