The Frenchman captured the Club World Cup with Real Madrid and the World Cup with France during 2018.Varane has ended 2018 with an impressive world crown double with Real Madrid and France. The win over Al Ain saw him lift his fourth Club World Cup crown at the age of just 25. In addition, he featured in all of the games en route to claiming these four titles, completing every minute in the last three editions of the tournament.
This Club World Cup triumph takes its place alongside the World Cup success achieved with the French national team in the summer, where Varane played an instrumental role. The defender played every minute in Russia and even weighed in with a goal in the quarter-finals. These two titles mean that his name is added to the list of madridistas to have won both world crowns, with Real Madrid and their respective national teams, in the same year. Prior to Varane, this was a feat achieved by Karembeu (France, 1998), Roberto Carlos (Brazil, 2002), Khedira and Kroos (Germany, 2014).
