Modric, Golden Ball at the World Cup in Russia

The Real Madrid player, who scored two goals and picked up three MVPs, led Croatia to their best finish in history.
Luka Modric won the Golden Ball at the World Cup in Russia. The Real Madrid midfielder received the award after leading Croatia to the best run in the history of their national team. Modric beat the Belgian forward Hazard, who won the Silver Ball and the Frenchman Griezmann, Bronze Ball.
Starter in all seven tournament matches, Modric led the offensive side of his team. He scored two goals (against Nigeria and Argentina) and was chosen MVP in those two matches as well as against Russia. This Golden Ball at the World Cup is added to the one he picked up in the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi.
After being one of the big stars in Russia 2018, Modric ends a brilliant season in which he won four titles with Real Madrid (Champions League, Club World Cup, European Super Cup and Spanish Super Cup), playing 43 matches in for the Whites and contributing two goals and seven assists.
