NEWS | 19/05/2018 | Borja Miranda

“We did well in the first half but lost our rhythm”, admitted Varane.
Dani Carvajal, Who returned to the team at the estadio de la Céramica after overcoming an injury, spoke to the press after the win against Villarreal: “I felt good, after three weeks out and with next week’s game coming, it was important to be ready physically. We are all prepared. The team are in good shape, there are no injuries and it will be tough for the coach to pick an XI”.

“It was a game of two very different halves. In the first, we played well and kept the ball. In the last half of the game the team was thinking about Kiev, we did not. We do not need to work harder physically. The season was long. Now we have to look at the game in order to damage our next rivals”.
Varane: "This game was useful preparation for the final"
"It was a match that was useful in terms of our preparation ahead of the Champions League final. We put in a really good first-half performance and in the second period we let the tempo drop a bit, but our attitude was good throughout. It's understandable because we've worked really hard this week and trained at high intensity. We gave our all tonight".

"The good thing about this team is that we're capable of playing in different systems and have a lot of players. The important thing is that we're all ready and focused. Luca was happy with his debut. We spoke to him during the game and gave him his confidence and he did well".
