The reserve team player made his first appearance in the league aged 16 and 2 months, beating Núñez and Antelo.Luka Doncic has become the youngest player to debut with Real Madrid in the ACB, aged 16, 2 months and 2 days. The Slovenian played for a minute and a half and scored a three pointer in Real Madrid's win against Unicaja de Málaga. He beat the record of Roberto Núñez by three months and that of Antelo by six months. In the history of the competition, he is the third youngest player to make their debut, behind Ricky Rubio (14 years and 11 months) and Ángel Rebolo (15 years and 3 months).
Under Laso, six reserve players have made their league debut for the Whites: Dani Díez (2011-12), Willy Hernangómez and Alberto Martín (2012-13), Yusta and Barreiro (2013-14) and now Luka Doncic. The captain Felipe Reyes talked about the Slovenian following his debut: "He is a young guy who has surpassed other players of his age and older. I think that we will see him in the side very soon. He is hardworking and if you bring all that together it means you have a really bright future".
