On 13 June 2012, Jesé made his debut for Real Madrid in the team’s victory away at Ponferradina in the Copa del Rey. This was the academy product’s first spell in the first team since he started out for the under-15s in 2007. He was a fast, creative and skillful forward with an eye for goal. This was backed up by his spectacular season in the Segunda División for Castilla when he scored 22 goals.
His fine performances in the youth side earned him an opportunity for the first team, for which he began to excel in the 2013/14 season, winning the Champions League and the Copa del Rey. An anterior cruciate ligament tear on the road to the Décima kept him on the sidelines for some time.

When he returned the following season, Real Madrid secured another double (Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup). In his third and final season in the first team he was instrumental in the Undécima, playing all six games in the knockout stages and scoring against Rome at the Olympic stadium.
