James Rodríguez joined Real Madrid from Monaco in the summer of 2014 after an impressive World Cup with Colombia. He was a highly technical player with a spectacular left-foot strike and blessed the Madrid fans with some incredible goals and outstanding assists. One of his strikes at the World Cup in Brazil earned him the Puskas Award for the best goal of 2014.

He marked his appearance for our club by winning the first of his 9 trophies with Madrid: the UEFA European Super Cup against Sevilla in Cardiff. In that first season he also lifted the Club World Cup. In the following two seasons he was involved in securing the Undécima and the Duodécima, as well as another Club World Cup, a UEFA Super Cup and a LaLiga title.
After a loan spell at Bayern Munich from 2017 to 2019, he returned to Real Madrid in the 2019/20 campaign to lift the Spanish Super Cup and another league title.
