The Madridistas secured their second victory of the week at the Di Stéfano with goals from Pau C., Holmgaard, Redondo and Rocío.
Real Madrid secured their second win of the week and their third consecutive victory in the League at the Alfredo Di Stéfano. After their Champions League win against PSG, our team picked up three points against Levante to prolong their good form ahead of the international break. Pau Quesada's side dominated the game from start to finish and took the lead in the first half through Pau Comendador, who opened her account for the first team this season. In the second half, Holmgaard, Redondo and Rocío sealed the victory for Real Madrid.
Our team took the initiative from the start. The first chance fell to Pau C., whose shot from the edge of the box grazed the crossbar in the 9th minute. Two minutes later, Redondo also tried her luck from distance, but on this occasion, Coronado tipped her effort wide. Our team constantly forced the opposition goalkeeper into action, who, after a quarter of an hour, prevented Athenea from scoring with a fine save.
But Madrid's persistence paid off in the 17th minute. Holmgaard sent a ball into the box, which Keukelaar headed back across goal; Pau C. got on the end of it, her shot hit the crossbar, but she quickly pounced on the rebound to make it 1-0 with a powerful right-footed shot. Real Madrid were dominant and, in the 38th minute, Redondo came close to doubling the lead with a header that narrowly missed the target from Keukelaar's fine cross. Despite numerous chances, the team failed to increase their lead before the break.
Madrid rout
In the second half, Madrid remained the dominant force. Three minutes after the restart, Däbritz fired in a shot from the edge of the box that Coronado acrobatically saved. But the goals were not long in coming. Holmgaard drilled a long-range shot that, after hitting a visiting defender, ended up in the Levante goal (57'). The Whites were relentless and, just two minutes later, Redondo headed in a measured cross from Weir to make it 3-0.
There was no stopping them. In the 63rd minute, it was Rocío's turn, scoring the fourth after finishing with her right foot from a corner kick. Levante responded with a double chance in the 64th minute, which Misa saved with two fantastic saves. Five minutes later, Weir came close to scoring the fifth with a beautiful free kick that crashed against the post. The Madridistas continued to create chances, but Coronado's saves prevented further goals. The Madridistas go into the international break with another home win.
