Rodrygo spoke to the press after Real Madrid's win over Girona. The Brazilian ace struck his 50th goal in our team's colours on the night, and he reflected: "It was a key game. We know it's important to win every game but tonight it was even more so. It went the way we wanted and we're delighted with the win."

His 50th goal
“I'm so happy. It was a special moment. Scoring in this jersey is always special. It was a perfect night for us."

Confidence
“The coach never speaks to me about scoring goals because he has faith in me and I in him. Sometimes we go through spells that are not what we want but I'd like to thank him for the support because he's always been right behind me. He gave me another opportunity today and I got the goal so I'm thrilled. We talk all the time but about other things, we don't like to add to the pressure on goals and assists, we know that will come naturally. Of course I'm frustrated when I go games without scoring but I have to stay calm. Ancelotti told me I was doing a good job defensively in the first half but then after the break he said I was struggling and he wanted to bring me off. He put that little bit of pressure on but I scored and it's all good."

The team's strength
“We have loads of top quality players in several positions. Carvajal and Tchouameni played centre-back today and did an amazing job, that shows the strength of this team and the group. We're going to keep it up. The coach believes in every single one of us. We have lots of versatile players who can play in various positions. It was a tough game today but our confidence is high. It was a perfect performance both defensively and going forward."

The Bernabéu
“They always help us out so much and it's special to play here because they give us that support and strength when we need it most. Things are going well on the pitch and now we have to maintain that close link to the fans."
