Villarreal-Real Madrid: LaLiga champions hit the road for the final time
Ancelotti's boys are looking for a tenth successive win in the competition (7:00pm CEST).
There are just two league games to go ahead of the Champions League final. The LaLiga champions today face their final away day with a trip to Villarreal on matchday 37 (7:00pm CEST). Ancelotti's boys have picked up the last nine wins on the bounce and will be hoping to make it a round 10 at the Estadio de la Cerámica tonight. Up the other end, opposition looking to secure a European spot next season.
Our team have been on fire in their recent league fixtures since being crowned champions back on 4 May. Some nine goals have come since, against Granada and Alavés, taking them to an impressive 83 goals scored. The defence has been equally strong. With four clean sheets in a row, Real Madrid have eclipsed their record number of shut-outs in LaLiga (20).
“The Villarreal game is important in maintaining our competitive rhythm,” said Ancelotti in the pre-match press conference ahead of the clash. Aside from the injured Tchouameni and Alaba, the Italian has a full squad available to him. Among them, Jude Bellingham, who has found the net in his last three league games and tops the team's scoring charts in the competition (19). Alongside the Englishman are Vini Jr. (15 goals) and Arda Güler, who struck against both Granada and Alavés last week.
