The game will be Xabi Alonso's second at the helm. The coach will again be without Mbappé in the squad, as he discussed the match with the press: “I'm expecting an intense game. We want to play well and win it. In such a short competition, after the draw the other day, we have to win it and finish with a more positive impression."
The opposition
Founded in 1892, Pachuca is the oldest club in Mexico. They're led by Jaime Lozano, who was coach of the Mexican National Team for the summers of 2023 and 2024. The last clash between the two sides came recently - in fact, they were our opponents in the Intercontinental Cup final back in December, as Real Madrid got their hands on the title in Qatar with goals for Mbappé, Rodrygo and Vini Jr. (3-0).
