On this day 95 years ago, one of the greatest goalkeepers in Real Madrid and world football history made his debut. Ricardo Zamora marked his first official appearance as a madridista on 5 October 1930, in a Regional Championship clash against Racing Madrid, with our team running out 3-2 winners.

Ricardo Zamora was Real Madrid's goalkeeper until 1936, during which time he amassed 2 league titles, 2 Copa de España trophies, 1 Regional Championship and 5 Commonwealth Championships. Nicknamed El Divino, he made 152 official appearances as a madridista. His last game was a memorable one too: the 1936 Copa final against Barcelona at Mestalla. In the Clásico showpiece, his spectacular saves were instrumental in securing the trophy for the last time.
