On August 29, 2012, Real Madrid lifted their ninth Spanish Super Cup. In that edition, our team, competing as the La Liga champion, faced Barcelona. The first leg took place on August 23 at Camp Nou, where the Blaugrana narrowly won (3-2). Six days later, the madridistas turned the tie around at the Santiago Bernabéu and claimed the trophy based on the double value of goals scored away from home (2-1). In this return leg, Real Madrid legend Luka Modrić made his official debut with our team.
