Ninth anniversary of La Décima
On 24 May 2014, Sergio Ramos, Bale, Marcelo and Ronaldo scored against Atlético in the unforgettable final in Lisbon.
On this day nine years ago, Real Madrid clinched La Décima in Lisbon. Sergio Ramos starred in a truly unforgettable that will go down in our club's history thanks to his decisive goal in the final against Atlético. With 93 minutes on the clock, the centre back rose highest to head home an equalizer and take the game into extra-time. In the extra period, Bale, Marcelo and Cristiano Ronaldo all found the net to complete a magical night. With Carlo Ancelotti in the dugout, our team showed their values of commitment and fighting to the end to get their hands on the trophy.
On their way to Lisbon, the madridistas played Galatasaray, Juventus and Copenhagen in the Group Stage. They then came past three German sides in the knock-outs: Schalke Round of 16, Borussia Dortmund quarters and Bayern Munich semi-finals. This was the second of three all-Spanish finals in European Cup history, all of which have gone the way of Real Madrid.
