Pedro Martínez: "We must congratulate the players for their determination"
“We were intense on defense and shot with courage,” said Campazzo after the victory over Fenerbahce.
Pedro Martínez and Campazzo spoke to the media after Real Madrid's victory over Fenerbahce at the Movistar Arena. The coach stated: “You can't relax against anyone, only when the game is over. You have to stay focused at all times, and we did that well. We started with turnovers and poor defense. With the entry of Campazzo and other players, we changed the defensive rhythm at the end of the first quarter. From there, we were more solid on offense.
“In the second half, we were able to find three-point shots. In the first half, their defense made it difficult for us to find them. A good victory with the bitter taste of Jantunen's injury, which seems to be somewhat serious. We must congratulate the players because they played with great determination against a tough team that defends very well.”
Campazzo: “We beat a great team”
“On defense, you have to be intense. When you see the person next to you diving headfirst and defending hard, it inspires everyone playing and those on the bench. We built the game from there. Then, on offense, we attacked the paint, found the player who was well-positioned at that moment, and took the shots with courage. We beat a great team with a great coach. Double credit to the team.”
“Everyone scores from all positions. For the point guards, the job is easier because we have a very talented team that can score in different situations. It’s more credit to the one who makes the shot than to the one who passes it. With Tavares, I’ve been playing for many years, and just by looking at each other, we know what we want. We need to take advantage of those connections.”
