The Real Madrid player was recognized for being the most promising European basketball player under the age of 18.
Hugo González was awarded the Rising Star trophy at the Adidas Next Generation Tournament, an award that the tournament gives to the most promising European basketball player under the age of 18. The shooting guard, who played a key role in Real Madrid's fourth Junior Euroleague title in its history, scored an average of 16.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 3.2 steals and 1.7 blocks over the four games, scoring an average of 20.2 points in 32.2 minutes of play.
The academy product, who was 17 years old last February, has already been named MVP of the Qualifying Phase of the Adidas Next Generation Tournament in Munich, where our junior team finished first. Hugo González made his debut with Real Madrid's first team this season, when he was 16 years old, in a game against Monbus Obradoiro in the second round of the Endesa League.
