Pau Quesada and Caroline Weir appeared in the Real Madrid City press room before the media the day before the sixth matchday of the Women's Champions League, which will be played against Twente at De Grolsch Veste (Wednesday, 9:00 pm CET). The coach said, "They're a side that will put us through our paces. We will focus on what we can control, which is to play a very demanding game. "We know they're strong at home. Chelsea weren't able to win there, they go into the game on the back of a great performance in London against Arsenal... At home, with the support of the fans, they're an opponent who like to have the ball and play aggressively. We'll have to play a very good game to get the three points, and that's what we're going for."

Approach
"Tactically, Twente are a team who, with their 4-3-3 formation, cause you a lot of problems. We'll try to take the ball away from them, be very aggressive and try not to let them find the players they have inside. Then, with the ball, we'll try to have our usual dynamism and be able to threaten deep."

An opponent with less pressure
"Mentally, we have to be prepared, because this is a team playing at home, who right now are not playing for anything and are hosting Real Madrid. The fact that they are under less pressure because of the qualification could help them, especially in the attacking phase. We're aware of that, and we're going to come up against a team that's going to demand a lot from us."

The top four
"We have to focus on what we can control, which is to go for the three points. There are indeed games like Chelsea, Juve or Bayern that can affect our ranking, but we know that we depend on ourselves. When the game is over, we'll see if we're in the top four."

Rotations in the last game
"We have a great squad. We mix highly experienced players who deliver immediate impact with others who are already performing at an elite level. They are players who are participating and who have to have that space, but it's not because we give it to them; it's because they earn it and because we know they will help us. We have to continue to control the load. I think the club has done a great job in having so many players at their disposal."

Injuries
"Merle (Frohms), Bruun, Teresa, Antonia Silva and Toletti are not expected in the short term. We had the situation of Lotte (Keukelaar), who is a player who has been playing 15 minutes lately because she has had some problems since the Barça game. The rest are fine. We don't expect those five players to be back until the middle or end of January."

Clean sheets
"The players are looking very solid. That's something we're trying to work on. We've kept four clean sheets in a row, but we're going to try to get a fifth. Tomorrow we have another good test to give our all."

Caroline Weir: ‘We know we have to give our best’
"We played each other last year, and it was a tough game. With the format of the Champions League, any game is difficult, especially away from home. Twente have shown that they are also a difficult team."

Evolution over the season
"Throughout the season, we've shown signs of progression. When there are numerous changes at the end of the season, it takes some time, but we are making progress. We want to move forward and step it up a notch, and Champions League games are a platform to do so."

Lakrar and Iris Ashley suspended
"The two players who won't be able to travel are a big loss. Lakrar has been solid in defence and has been an important player. But I think we have shown great depth this year, and the players who have come in and played have shown they are up to the level."

The importance of finishing in the top four
"We are aware of it and what it can mean for us. We know we need to get the three points. It's also important in terms of recovery going forward. We're aware of that, but at the same time we don't focus too much on it because we need to win first, that's our objective."
