Real Madrid secured their second Spanish Super Cup on 23 September 2012. The Príncipe Felipe arena in Zaragoza was the scene of that year’s edition that saw Pablo Laso’s side lift the trophy after overcoming Barcelona in the final. The madridistas had previously eliminated Zaragoza in the semi-finals by 64-72.
In the final, Real Madrid emerged victorious by 84-95, with Rudy Fernández the standout performer. The small forward racked up 22 points and a PIR of 25 and was named MVP of the competition. Llull (14) and Carroll (17) also excelled in the final.
