This will be the sixth time the Whites face a Czech team in European competition.The first-time Real Madrid faced a Czech side was in the second round of the 1964/65 European Cup. The Santiago Bernabéu hosted a match where the Whites, led by Miguel Muñoz, saw off Dukla Prague (4-0) with a hat-trick from Amancio and a goal from Grosso. the away leg was a 2-2 draw.
Sparta Prague
Sparta Prague are the most decorated team in the country, and against this historic side, Real Madrid have played four times in Europe. The clashes came in the quarter-finals of the 1967/68 season ending with a 3-0 victory in the home leg and a 2-1 defeat in the away leg. The most recent meetings between the sides was in 2001/02, as the Whites made their way towards la Novena. The teams met in the second group stage and Real Madrid came out on top in both games (2-3 and 3-0).
At the Bernabéu they have won four times and drawn once.
The UEFA Cup also saw the Whites meet Czech teams in two different seasons. The first came in September 1983 as they took on Sparta Prague, losing away and drawing 1-1 at the Bernabéu. The other previous game in this competition was in March 1992 against Sigma Olomuc. The Whites beat them in the quarterfinals after a 1-1 draw in the Czech Republic and a vital win in Madrid (1-0).

The home record for these games is four wins and one draw, with a total of 12 goals scored by the Whites and only one against. We must also highlight the important role played by Amancio, as he scored seven goals against these sides: four against Dukla and three against Sparta.
