"It's an honour to be playing in this tournament again this year", said Emilio Butragueño.
Real Madrid now know the three opponents that they will play in the summer. The Whites will come up against Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup. After taking part in last year’s tournament in Australia and China, Real Madrid go back to the United States where they will be a part of this prestigious pre-season tournament for the fourth consecutive year.

The first game will take place on 28 July at 1:30am CET (27 July, 7:30pm local time) against PSG at the Ohio Stadium in the city of Columbus. On 30 July the Whites play Chelsea, at 9pm CET (3pm local time) at the Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor. Bayern Munich are the third opponents in a game to be played on 4 August at 1:30am CET (3 August, 7:30pm local time) in the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

As well as the Whites' three opponents, Liverpool, Leicester City, Barcelona, Inter, AC Milan and Celtic make up the teams in this year's tournament. Real Madrid were crowned champions in the United States in 2013 and again last summer in Australia and China.

The club's Director of Institutional Relations said: "First of all, thank you for the invitation. It's an honour to be here and to be playing in this tournament again this year. It's a great competition and one our players are proud to play in. We have got difficult opponents and it will require a lot of hard work. We return to the United States where football has grown a lot in recent years and it's an opportunity for our fans and the team to enjoy themselves".
