For the Whites, he made over 150 appearances and was a consistent performer in the spine of the team. Khedira was a dynamic and mobile midfielder, who had great ability to win the ball back and joined the attack. The German was dominant in the air due to his height, and he also possessed a fierce strike from distance.
The German started the final of La Décima against Atlético in Lisbon. In addition to the European Cup, in his five seasons as a Real Madrid player Khedira won 1 Club World Cup, 1 UEFA Super Cup, 1 LaLiga title, 2 Copa del Rey trophies and 1 Spanish Super Cup.
At international level, he made 77 appearances for Germany. Just under two months after clinching the Champions League, Khedira lifted the 2014 World Cup in Brazil with his country. After departing Real Madrid, he continued his career at Juventus and Hertha Berlin, until 19 May 2021, when he announced his retirement from football.
