Marcelo is one of the best players to have ever represented our club. Following a 16-season stint, the Brazilian has achieved a record befitting a legend: Real Madrid’s most decorated player, with 25 trophies to his name. He captained the side that lifted the Decimocuarta and his impressive trophy haul includes five Champions League crowns, four Club World Cups, a trio of UEFA Super Cups, six LaLiga titles, a pair of Copas del Rey and five Spanish Super Cups.
The left wing-back, who was born on 12 May 1988 in Rio de Janiero, made his Real Madrid debut on 7 January 2007 against Deportivo at Riazor. He went on to clock up 546 appearances to become the second-highest foreign appearance maker in the club's history, second only to Karim Benzema.
A key man in the final third, he plundered 38 goals in madridista colours, including an unforgettable strike in the Décima final in Lisbon. In the individual stakes, he was named in the Men's FIFA FIFPRO World 11 on six occasions (2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019).
With Brazil, Marcelo secured a silver medal at the London Olympics, before claiming bronze at the Beijing Games. He also captured the Confederations Cup crown with his national team.
