Star of the third European Cup

American forward Bob McIntyre joined the club in 1966, signed by Pedro Ferrándiz after standing out at St. John's University. He played for Real Madrid for one season, where he contributed to winning 1 European Cup and 1 Spanish Cup.

McIntyre played a key role in winning the third league title. The final was played at home against Simmenthal Milan in the Ciudad Deportiva pavilion. Real Madrid won 91-83 following a very tight contest, with the American scoring 14 points. McIntyre continued his career in the ABA after his spell with the club, where he played for two more seasons.
