Starter in the final of the eighth European cup

Along with Sabonis and Arlauckas as the leaders, Real Madrid also needed strong defensive players. Together with Isma Santos, Javi García Coll formed one of the best defensive outside pairings in Europe. Clever and fast, he was an important team player.

García Coll came through the Real Madrid youth academy and after playing for various clubs in the Madrid region, he made the move to our first team in 1993, where he played for three seasons. He won the League in the first season and in the second, the eighth European Cup in Zaragoza against Olympiacos. García Coll started in the final and played an important role in defending the star of the opposition: Eddie Johnson.
