The admiration that Real Madrid arouses in Ukrainian territory is not something new. In 2002, in addition, that support became more clear thanks to the creation of the Odessa Peña. His name is a clear tribute to the Real Madrid coach, Mariano García Remón, known as ‘The Odessa cat’ following his spectacular performance in a dynamo of Kiev-Real Madrid play Peña Odessa, told us there the details of this association: how did the idea of ​​forming the Odessa rock? It was thanks to Anatoly Possun, an amateur residing in Madrid for twelve years and who raised OdESSA's fans the possibility of founding a Real Madrid followers club. What year was it founded? In 2002, coinciding with the centenary of the club. We were the first official Peña of Real Madrid in the territory of Eastern Europe. How many Peñas of Real Madrid are there in the republics from the former Soviet Union? Right now there are three: one in Moscow, another in Moldova and ours. The members of the Peñas Moscow and Moldavas learned that we existed and came to visit us to share our experience. It is very special to share the great moments we have lived as Real Madrid. Who composes it? Most are inhabitants of Odessa, although there are also kyiv people. In general, in all Ukraine it is known that we are fans of Real Madrid and that Real Madrid is our inspiration. What kind of activities do you organize? We are not a conventional rock. For example, we have mounted a football school in which around 400 children divided into ten teams that play the Odessa Children's League are enrolled. We have also created an adult team that plays in the Second Professional League of Ukraine. How do you follow the team from distance? The matches that have played in Moscow or kyiv have been able to see them live. We also traveled to Spain in March 2003 to attend the Real Madrid-Racing party, but in the end they changed it from day and we could not see it. Anyway, we have a headquarters where we meet and see the matches that give on Ukraine television. Still we would like to be able to access digital television in Spain to watch all Real Madrid games.
