This Peña began to take shape in the 2003-2004 season and finally, it was founded as the Readidist Peña New York City in June 2007, after conquering the League title of the 2006-2007 season. That joy placed the foundations of what is today a small great family of more than 200 partners enjoying a common feeling: Real Madrid. 'Our goal as Peña is to share our passion for Real Madrid and create a large social network of Real Madrid in New York,' says its president, Elena Ponce. The Midtown West neighborhood, in the heart of Manhattan and that accumulates the largest number of musicals in New York, also houses the headquarters of the Peña, the bar The Irish Rogue, where every day of the game they meet a good number of fans for Enjoy with the triumphs of the team. The great passion that is lived in this place has made the Madrid feeling live in Manhattan in the same way as in Santiago Bernabéu. 'The Irish Rogue bar is a perfect place for tourists not to have to miss the matches of Real Madrid or the Spanish National Team while traveling. During the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, football fans enjoyed the New York City of the games of the Spanish soccer team,' adds Elena Ponce, Valenciana and great admirer of Zidane, and who serves as a hillow. Vice President Sergio Carrasco, Mexican, faithful Real Madrid and Devotee of Hugo Sánchez. Between the two and the most veteran members of the Peña get anyone to feel strange. Like New York, the melting pot of nationalities is another characteristic of the Peña, where there is only one universal language, which is that of football. Americans, Mexicans, Salvadorans, Canadians, Uruguayans, Chileans, Poles, Moroccans, Cubans, ... and, of course, Spaniards. Everyone has a place without exception to enjoy Real Madrid and football in good company. The great atmosphere that is breathed in La Peña has contributed to its rapid growth, exceeding 200 members in just 3 years. The pre -season tours of the white team to the US are always a special moment for the Peña, which already had occasion in 2009 to see in action its players in Washington. But the activity of the group does not stay there. Meals, participation in amateur soccer championships, PlayStation championships, excursions ... Any excuse is good to get together, and Real Madrid, the common feeling that unites everyone. 'Whether you live in New York, as if you are passing, you are invited to live with us the passion for Real Madrid in this great city. Do not hesitate. We wait for you.'
