Real Madrid defeated Crystal Palace in their second preseason match, held at the Marbella Football Center. Our team was superior from the start, and Keukelaar opened the scoring in the 31st minute. After the restart, Pau Quesada's side maintained control of the game and sealed the win with an own goal by O'Brien in the 70th minute.
The match began with a few cautious moments. In the 10th minute, Andreia J. had the first dangerous chance with a shot inside the box that was saved by Yáñez. Our team increased the pace in attack, and nine minutes later, Schröder tested the opposing goalkeeper with a long-range shot. Past the half-hour mark, Keukelaar intercepted a pass during the opponent's buildup and scored the 1-0 with a sharp finish (31’). The team went into halftime with that lead.
Madrid seals the match
After the restart, the game slowed down and there were few notable chances. The English side tried to control possession, but our team maintained control of the match at all times. In the 70th minute, the 2-0 came after O'Brien sent the ball into her own net following a shot by Silvia Cristóbal. The score remained unchanged, and Real Madrid claimed their second victory of the preseason. The next match for Pau Quesada's side will be against Sevilla next Saturday (8:00 pm CEST).
