Real Madrid claimed their 12th Liga F win on the road.
Real Madrid claimed their first away win of the 2026 season. Pau Quesada's side beat Levante on matchday 16 of the Liga F, which was played at the Ciudad Deportiva de Buñol. Athenea, who netted a brace (10' and 25'), was the star of a hard-fought match, with Dolores pulling one back for the home side, also in the first half (32').
The game started with a possible penalty for a foul by Tarazona on Redondo, but the referee decided not to award it after reviewing the action. Athenea, who was showing great initiative down the flank, created a number of dangerous chances, until she found the back of the net in the 10th minute. The forward latched onto a rebound from the Levante goalkeeper, controlled the ball and unleashed a powerful left-footed shot that went in off the crossbar to give the Madridistas the lead.
Athenea bags a brace
15 minutes later, Athenea's second arrived. The move came from a counter-attack led by Linda Caicedo. After several rebounds in the box, Däbritz assisted the Cantabrian, who extended the lead (25'). Shortly afterwards, Levante pulled one back through Dolores. The home side looked for an equaliser before the break, but Misa got just enough on the ball to divert a long-range effort from Érika, and another cross-shot from Ana Franco went wide.
No goals in the second half
After the break, the Whites took control of the game and had chances to increase the gap. The clearest chances fell to Linda Caicedo, who could have scored the third with a low shot that went just wide of the post, and Angeldahl, whose shot was saved by Tarazona. The game ended 2-1 to Madrid.
