Goal feast before international break

Real Madrid produced a scintillating attacking performance at the Alfredo Di Stéfano. The Whites secured victory against Sporting de Huelva in the final game before the international break. Alberto Toril‘s side went three goals up in the first half through Athenea, Olga and Raso in the space of five minutes (between 37’ and 42’). In the second half, the visitors reduced the deficit, but Møller grabbed two goals in a minute. Sporting de Huelva pulled another goal back in the dying seconds to make it 5-2.
 
After a cagey first quarter of an hour, Zornoza was the first to try her luck when she linked up with Athenea on the left wing and hit a shot that crashed into the side netting. In the 23rd minute, the madridista also had an effort from out wide that was turned away by the keeper. The Whites bossed possession and their pressure was rewarded with three goals in the space of just five minutes. First, Athenea latched onto a loose ball in the box to fire her side ahead in her 100th game as a Madrid player (37'). Two minutes later, Olga, after superb control from a long pass from Ivana, made it 2-0 with a cross-shot. In the 42nd minute, the defender was also on hand to assist Raso with a neat ball into the six-yard box to extend the lead before the interval.
 
Møller bags a brace
After the re-start, the pattern of play continued in the same vein with Madrid on top. However, despite plenty of attacks from the Whites, Isina pulled one back for the visitors. But the madridistas soon responded and Møller added to the home side's lead when she struck twice in the space of a minuet. First, the forward took advantage of a defensive error to slot home the fourth (63'). Immediately after the kick-off, Madrid took the ball into the opposition half, Athenea delivered a pinpoint cross to the Danish player, who netted her second goal (64'). Madrid continued to carve out numerous chances, but Cienfu scored in stoppage time to make the score 5-2.
