Real Madrid beat Sevilla 4-1 on LaLiga F matchday 12. Goals from Shei, Toletti, Linda C. and Bruun sealed the win before half-time. Alba López reduced the deficit in the second half, but Toril's side secured all three points at the Alfredo Di Stéfano. It was Real Madrid's eighth league win of the season and they take on Celtic away on Wednesday in the fifth round of the Women's Champions League (9:00pm CET)
The game started at a fast pace with chances for both teams. First, Lucía Corral tested Misa with a shot that the Madrid goalkeeper saved easily (2'). Linda C. responded immediately with a good low shot from the edge of the area, but Sullastres turned it wide. The first goal came in the 19th minute, when Shei stole the ball in the opposition half and, after a brilliant combination with Bruun and Alba Redondo, scored her first goal in a Real Madrid shirt. From this point on, the home side dominated the game.
Real Madrid go on to score
Toril's side extended their lead in the 25th minute. Toletti won the ball on the edge of the area and skillfully lobbed Sullastres. The madridistas were not satisfied and, four minutes later, Linda Caicedo made it 3-0. The Colombian surged into the box and struck a right-footed shot just inside the post. Madrid's fourth goal came before the break thanks to Bruun, who capitalised on a poor clearance to make it 4-0 with a powerful long-range effort.
The second half started at a slightly slower pace and our team managed the advantage well. Sevilla reduced the deficit in the 73rd minute when Alba Lopez, who had only just come on, took advantage of a loose ball in the box to head home at will to make it 4-1. Toril' s side had several chances to score the fifth, but the scoreline remained unchanged at the Di Stéfano.
