Our team won in their return to league action after the international break.
Real Madrid beat Sevilla on LaLiga matchday 19. Our team returned to home competition in the best possible way thanks to Olga's goal from a great individual effort (48'). Toril's side extend their good run of form in the league, with seven wins in the last eight games.
Our team kept possession in a first half without too much in the way of dangerous chances. Sevilla could have taken the lead in the 30th minute, but Misa made a great save to deny them. Martin-Prieto headed towards goal after collecting a long ball behind the defence, but our goalkeeper outwitted the Sevilla striker in the one-on-one. Five minutes later, Bruun arrived too quickly to be able to head home a corner and the ball was cleared by the home defence.
Olga scores in her 100th LaLiga game
After the break, our team stepped it up a gear in search of a goal which wasn't long in coming. A one-two between Olga and Athenea left the defender in a good position for her to run into the box in a great individual move and score in her 100th LaLiga game as a madridista (48'). Far from being satisfied, Real Madrid wanted more and looked for a second with a shot from Linda that was blocked by the defence and a shot from Athenea that was cleared off the line by Sullastres. Later, Ivana, Bruun and Toletti would all come close to finding the back of the net. The game finally broke open just before the end, with Sevilla looking for an equaliser, but our team were able to hold on and take all three points from the Jesús Navas stadium.
