Real Madrid lost to Sevilla in a game which was decided in the dying embers and in which they had a valid goal disallowed with the score at 0-1.
Real Madrid were unable to pick up a point at the Alfredo Di Stéfano after the international break. While Real Madrid dominated the game in the first half, Sevilla took the lead six minutes into the second half. The madridistas equalised in a move in which Teresa scored an own goal, but referee Olatz Rivera disallowed the goal for a non-existent offside. In the 85th minute, Møller made it 1-1 and in stoppage time Arola and Gemma sealed the game for the Andalusian side.
The game got off to a good start with chances for Madrid. Olga was the first to threaten the visitors' net with a long-range effort that ended up in the hands of Sullastres (4'). Three minutes later, Oihane put in a good cross from the right flank that Raso got a head to, but her attempt went just wide of the post. In the 15th minute, Møller could have opened the scoring with a shot from outside the area that just missed the target. After the first 20 minutes, Raso had two good chances: first, with a header that the away goalkeeper kept out, and then with a shot that Sullastres had to save twice. After the half hour mark, Oihane tried her luck with a cross-shot that crashed against the crossbar. And before the break, Athenea also tried her luck with another shot that missed the target by mere inches.
Valid goal ruled out
In the 51st minute, Sevilla took the lead through Amanda Sampedro, who took advantage of a rebound from Misa to make it 1-0. In the 62nd minute, Real Madrid equalised after a combination between Athenea and Møller ended in a Teresa own goal. However, referee Olatz Rivera disallowed the goal for a non-existent offside. Our team did not give up and continued to look for goal, which Møller got in the 85th minute after a move involving Marisa on the right flank. Toril's team pushed forward with everything they had and Sevilla took advantage of the spaces to finish the game off with goals from Arola and Gemma.
