Real Madrid secured an important victory at the An der Alten Försterei stadium ahead of the start of the 2025-26 season. Pau Quesada's team beat Union Berlin 1-3 in the first of two warm-up matches in Germany. Eva Navarro and Bruun, both assisted by Holmgaard, put the Whites ahead in the first half. In the second half, Bruun struck again to seal the Madridista victory. Madrid will play their second friendly on German soil on Thursday against Bayern Munich (4 pm CEST Realmadrid TV).

Madridistas dominant
After the opening exchanges, Real Madrid took the lead in the 11th minute. Feller recovered possession in the opposition half and, after a nice build-up, Holmgaard put in a cross into the box for Eva Navarro to finish superbly to open the scoring. Two minutes later, the Dane almost made it two when she connected with a lovely back-heel from Weir, but her left-footed shot went just wide of the post via a deflection off an opposition defender. The Scotland international also had a chance to net in the 23rd minute, getting on the end of Eva Navarro's cross but the ball just missed the target. The Madridistas were dominating the proceedings. After the half-hour mark, Pawollek cleared a Bruun shot off the line, but in the 43rd minute, the striker headed the ball home from Holmgaard's cross to take the game into the break with a 2-0 lead.

Bruun completes brace
A few minutes after the interval, both teams found the back of the net. First, Bruun completed her brace with a right-footed shot after intercepting a pass (49') and, a minute later, D. Orschmann pulled one back with a strike from the edge of the area, but the Whites were still on top (1-3). Union Berlin began to look more threatening in attack, but were unable to convert their efforts. They had a couple of chances in the 71st minute: first Campbell hit the post and then Frohms made a fine save to keep out Jenny Hipp's long-range effort. Despite the chances for both teams, the score remained unchanged.
