Real Madrid overcame Wolfsburg on the penultimate matchday of the first phase of the Women's Champions LeagueMaría Méndez (19') and Linda Caicedo (67') were on target for the Whites, who played the whole of the second half with 10 players following Lakrar's sending off just before half-time and finished with nine after Iris Ashley was shown a straight red card in added time. After this important victory, Pau Quesada's side remain in the upper echelons of the table and will go into the clash against Twente with a chance of qualifying directly for the next round (17 December, 9 pm CET).

The first half got off to a lively start with chances for both sides, until the Madridistas capitalised on a set piece to take the lead. María Méndez nodded home from close range after Eva Navarro’s corner (18'). Shortly afterwards, Alba Redondo had a chance to double the lead with an identical move to the one that led to the first goal, but her header crashed against the post. Just before half-time, Lakrar received a second yellow card and was given her marching orders, and Misa prevented Wolfsburg from equalising with a great save from point-blank range.

Linda’s fine goal seals the win
After the restart, Linda Caicedo came close to extending the lead, but was unable to beat Johannes when one-on-one. However, the Colombian made no mistake a few minutes later. A good through ball from Weir found the forward unmarked, and she cut inside before the goalkeeper and finished with a cross-shot to make it 2-0. The Whites, who finished the match with nine players after Iris Ashley was sent off, took all three points in their last home game of 2025.
