Victory at the Di Stéfano before the international break

Real Madrid picked up three important points at the Alfredo Di Stéfano before heading into the international break. Pau Quesada's side beat Eibar 3-0 in their Liga F matchday 12 fixture. Our team dominated from the start and Weir, playing her 100th game for Madrid, made it 1-0 early on (2'). In the second half, the Scot completed her brace with a spectacular strike from outside the area (47'), and Rocío made it 3-0 in the closing stages (84').

Real Madrid started strongly and soon took the lead. In the 2nd minute, Athenea broke into the box with a moment of magic and passed the ball to Weir, who finished with a low shot to beat the goalkeeper and make it 1-0. Two minutes later, the Scot could have doubled the lead, but she failed to connect properly with her shot.

Our team monopolised possession and maintained the initiative against a visiting side that was solid in defence. In the 32nd minute, Iris Ashley tried her luck with a shot from the edge of the box that was saved by the goalkeeper. Before half-time, Andrés had a chance to equalise with a header that went over the bar.

After the restart, Pau Quesada's side once again pushed for a goal in the opening minutes. And they got it. In the 47th minute, Weir scored her second with a spectacular left-footed shot from outside the area that found the top corner. Bennison could have extended the lead even further, but her shot crashed against the post.

Madrid remained in control. Athenea came within inches of connecting with Eva Navarro's excellent cross from the right wing. The momentum remained in our team's favour throughout the second half. In the 84th minute, Rocío pounced on a rebound inside the area to make it 3-0, securing Madrid's eighth win of the season.
