Real Madrid beat Athletic Club 1-4 at San Mamés in the Liga F match on matchday 7. Pau Quesada's side took the lead through Weir (13') and made it 0-2 with an own goal in the 19th minute. In the second half, the Basque side pulled one back to make it 1-2, but a second goal from Weir, her sixth of the season, and another from Iris Ashley in added time sealed our team's fifth consecutive unbeaten game in the national championship.

The Madridistas made their intentions clear from the start: to press high up the pitch to force mistakes. In the 13th minute, Toletti cut through the defensive line with an excellent through ball that found Eva Navarro; the Spaniard entered the area and assisted Weir, who, after breaking free from her marker with her first touch, finished with a shot across the goalkeeper into the far corner.

In the 19th minute, Toletti, one of the first half's outstanding players due to her electric play, took a corner kick looking for Andersson, but Campos got in the way and ended up deflecting the ball into her own net to make it 0-2. The match turned lively.
Ortega tried to reduce the deficit in the 24th minute, but Frohms responded with a good save with her feet. Feller wanted to extend the lead before half-time and made a great surging run from her own half, but her shot was deflected.

After the restart, our team controlled possession to prevent the opposition from creating any dangerous chances. However, in the 72nd minute, Nevado managed to reduce the deficit with a fine free kick. Athletic pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but the Madridistas took advantage of the space. In the 82nd minute, Weir got on the scoresheet again, completing her brace with a cross-shot after a fine link-up play with Athenea. In added time, Iris Ashley made it 1-4 with a shot from outside the area, her first goal for the first team. Real Madrid secured a convincing League win to get back in Champions League mode, as they visit PSG on Thursday, 16 October, in the second matchday of the competition.
