The Whites beat Betis courtesy of goals from Maite Oroz, Raso, a stunning goal from Feller, Bruun and another own goal.
Real Madrid produced a sublime display to thrash Betis in their first game of the season at the Alfredo Di Stéfano. Alberto Toril‘s side comfortably beat the Seville outfit in the rearranged Liga F matchday one clash to make it three wins out of three. Maite Oroz put the Whites ahead in the first half with a fierce right-footed shot from outside the area. In the second half, Raso, who scored her first official goal as a madridista, Feller, with a wonderful strike into the top corner, an own goal from Paula Perea and a goal from Bruun rounded off the scoring for the madridistas. In the last minute, Tiffany Cameron scored a consolation to make it 5-1.
The clash got off to the best possible start for the madridistas. Maite Oroz unleashed a powerful right-footed shot from the edge of the area following a corner to put the Whites ahead after just 2 minutes. After 10 minutes, Feller and Linda Caicedo also had chances; first the Frenchwoman's shot from the edge of the area was parried away by the goalkeeper, and then the rebound from the striker went narrowly over. Shortly after, Toletti forced P. Vizoso into another save with another effort from the edge of the area which the goalie did well to keep out.
In the second half, the madridistas pressed forward again and Linda Caicedo had the first chance to increase the lead with a shot from inside the area that narrowly went over the crossbar. Rocío also went close to extending Madrid's lead with a header from a corner.
Real Madrid find their goal-scoring feet
In the 53rd minute, Madrid were finally rewarded for their endeavours. Athenea drove down the left flank to the edge of the box, slipped a fine pass in to Raso, and the Aussie slotted past the onrushing goalkeeper to open her scoring account for Real Madrid. And barely five minutes later, Feller made it 3-0 with a breathtaking long-range effort that sailed into the top corner of the net. However, Madrid were not content with this result, and Rocío got her head to a free-kick and, after several rebounds, Paula Perea ended up putting through her own goal to score the fourth. Bruun rounded off the scoring, netting Madrid's fifth and final goal after latching onto a good pass from Athenea in the box 75'. In stoppage time, Tiffany Cameron netted a consolation goal to make it 5-1.
