Toril: “We are Real Madrid and we will be trying to win”
"We'll be looking to do our best and come away with a good feeling," said Linda Caicedo.
Alberto Toril and Linda Caicedo spoke at the press conference in the build-up to the Women's Champions League matchday five clash between Chelsea and Real Madrid (Wednesday, 9pm CET). The coach said: "They made things difficult for us in the first game and we expect them to do the same there. We will be looking to enjoy the atmosphere and the stadium. We're going there to play our game. We are Real Madrid, so we will be trying to win".
"We want to build on the good vibes. We've had a good start to the year and we've made improvements on some of the areas we needed to improve. We're going to go for the win"
Path to follow
"The team's in good shape. We don't have to look at others, but stick to our path. We still have the goal of growing and focusing on ourselves. Our results have been very steady and consistent. We're climbing the UEFA rankings and we're among the top eight".
Players' development
"We're happy with the development and the hard work. We've got a lot of young players who are growing and improving all the time. We're performing very well in competitive matches and I'm happy with the players' development".
Injuries
"We're having a hard time with injuries. They're preventing us from competing as well as we can. Sometimes you have seasons like this and you have to tackle them as well as you can. My team is ready and we're going to do very well".
Chelsea
"Chelsea are very physical. They play in a very strong domestic competition. We have to make them feel more uncomfortable. We have to make the most of our talent up front and create chances".
Linda: "We want to boost our confidence"
"It's going to be a difficult game and we know how big Chelsea and their players are. We'll be looking to do our best and come away with a good feeling. We deserve it, we want to boost our confidence and put in a good performance".
"It's going to be a big stage between two teams that play good football. We have to go there to enjoy it and play to the best of our ability".
Mentality
"The team is aware that we learn from our defeats. We'll carry on in other matches and in other competitions. We're aware of what lies ahead".
Taking advantage of Chelsea's mistakes
"We've analysed Chelsea and the first match. We'll try to exploit their weaknesses. We'll be looking to score goals and enjoy the game".
Attacking side
"We have to create threats by constantly getting forward. When we get a chance, we have to tak it".
