Pau Quesada: “We want to take the game to them, we're not thinking about where we're playing"
“We know each other well and it's going to be a good game against two good sides," said Angeldahl.
Pau Quesada and Angeldahl spoke to the press on the eve of the Women's Champions League matchday four clash between Arsenal and Real Madrid at Meadow Park (Wednesday, 9:00 pm CET). The coach reflected: “Real Madrid had never won in France, and we did it in Paris for the first time. We're coming to the home of the European champions, but we're coming without any fear. We want to be ourselves, set the pace of the game, and bring the intensity we're used to. They're tough opposition and we'll have to neutralise their strengths with the weapons we have. We're not worrying about where we're playing.”
“We've already got 20 different goalscorers, we're a team that creates a lot of chances and we want to become even more decisive and efficient in the opposition box. That's what our identity leads to, we want to take the game to them. That is what European competition demands. We're doing it in the League and in the Champions League and we want to keep that up tomorrow in a match where controlling their attacking threat will be crucial - because Arsenal are a very dynamic side. We want to be dynamic too, aggressive with our press, and refusing to drop deep. When we've got the ball, we want to take the game to them and find space to hurt them."
The opposition
“They're a hugely dynamic team. Against Lyon and Bayern, they put in two good performances, the results don't reflect those games. They do a lot with the ball, press very high, and they're a complete unit. They're putting on some great displays - perhaps they're just lacking that clinical edge to improve their results. They're a great side and I'm sure they'll achieve their goals."
His team's ability to bounce back
“If we want to fight in every competition, we have to have that strength to bounce back. The players are smart, so one day on the pitch is enough to get ready for the game. We have to be ourselves, we can't afford to think about our opponents. We know they are a tough proposition but we have to focus on ourselves. We're used to playing every three days and we have a deep enough squad to do that."
Angeldahl: “Arsenal have fantastic players and we'll have to be careful”
"It's going to be a good game against two good sides. We know each other well, it won't be an easy match. We're feeling good, despite not always picking up the results we're looking for. We can take a lot from it, we've learned a lot and we want to show that tomorrow. We're working hard because we want to improve and we're eager to show it."
"Arsenal have fantastic players and we'll have to be careful with them. They've shown everyone what they're capable of. They won the Champions League final and underlined how strong they are and the quality they possess."
