Tribute to world champions at Madrid City Hall
Our captain Ivana Andrés collected the award for the national team, who won the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The Spanish national team, champions at the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in summer, were presented with an award at the Champions Gala hosted by Madrid City Hall at the Caja de Música auditorium in the Palacio de Cibeles. Our captain, Ivana Andrés picked up the prize which rewards the national team's sporting success at an event that was also attended by Real Madrid's Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño.
Eight of our players were crowned world champions with Spain: Athenea del Castillo, Claudia Zornoza, Rocío Gálvez, Oihane Hernández, Ivana Andrés, Misa Rodríguez, Teresa Abelleira and Olga Carmona, scorer of the historic goal that clinched the title and saw her named player of the match in the final.
