Toril: 'We're ready to put in a good performance against Chelsea'

Alberto Toril and Ivana discussed the Women's Champions League match between Real Madrid and Chelsea at the press conference prior to the game Thursday, 9pm CET. The Real Madrid coach said: 'It's going to be a hard and complicated game. They're a very experienced and mature team, they know exactly what they are looking for. They're very physical, play with a high intensity and will require us to be very focused, but we're also aware of where we can hurt them. They're a very complete side, with a well-defined game plan and they manage the moments of the game well. They don't always need the ball to cause you problems, at times they thrive off their opponents' mistakes and they can dominate the game. We're looking to get a good result to keep our chances alive'.

'We're going to go out looking to win the game without inhibitions and try to take on our opponents with years of experience and more seasoned players, but we're doing very well. We've had a good run of results over the last five months and we're where we need to be. We're in a very good position in the league with a game in hand and we're fighting with big clubs in the Champions League. We're ready to put in a good performance'.

Match in London
'It was a very even game in football terms, with a lot of chances. Two strong sides who clearly know what they have to do and the game was decided by small details. We need to play a very tough game tomorrow, stay very focused and take care of the small details to avoid being punished for any small mistakes we might make'.

Feller
'She has some attributes that our other attacking players don't have, namely that power and speed. Both Esther and Nahikari are a different type of forward with other qualities. It's a matter of playing them based on what we need at any given moment'.
'In some games she might play up front and in other games we might use her on the wing. The nice thing about squads is having different options and we have that'.

Development
'Do you think last year's Champions League was better for the growth of the players and the club than this year's? Certainly not for me. It's not just the result. We reached the quarter-finals last year playing against lesser opponents and this season we've knocked out City and Rosenborg. We've also competed with Chelsea and PSG. We're in with a chance of qualifying and no matter what happens we've made a very important step forward and that will help us going forward'.

Ivana: 'The game will be decided by small details'
'We're really looking forward to it, extremely motivated. We're coming off the back of some good performances and we're full of confidence. It's a difficult match, but we're well aware that the game was very close there and we'll go out to win here, playing to our strengths. Every game is important. It's not a critical game tomorrow, but we want to take the three points'.

Key factors
'To be very focused from the off and minimise our mistakes. The match will be decided by small details. They are a seasoned opponent and we have to be ready out on the pitch, have a clear understanding of how we want to attack and defend and then we can compete and beat them. We're aware of their strength, but that's what motivates us. They're a top side and we'll give it our all'.

Fixtures
'We're coming off the back of a run of games, but in the end this is what the player wants, we train to play. We want to play every three days. We have to put in the final effort; we've got 15 days left before the break. Our squad is very complete and any player can play their part. That means we'll be fresh and go into the game in good shape'.

A decisive match?
'These games will help us grow, they're experiences that'll allow us to mature as a team and as players. It's certainly not the decisive game, we need to win this one and the ones against PSG and Vllaznia to reach the quarter-finals'.
