Alberto Toril and Kenti Robles spoke to the press on the eve of the game between Real Madrid and KKF Vllaznia, on matchday one of the group stage of the Women´s Champions League, which will be played at the Loro Boriçi Stadium 6:45 pm CET. The coach had the following to say: "We’re starting a great competition that’s really exciting. We made it through a tough qualifying phase, with two tough ties, and we are where we want to be, among the top 16 clubs in Europe. We’re going to enjoy it, and we know it’s a really important competition for our club and for us. We’re going to try to put on a good display and get the first three points”.

“We have the utmost respect for them, we know they’ll be tough opposition. We know about their record in domestic competitions, they’ve remained unbeaten for many years and they’re doing really well locally and internationally. We’re going to try to put on a good display and play to our strengths, in the knowledge that the opposition will make things difficult for us. This is the first time they’ll be playing in a competition like this. They’ll be playing in front of their fans and they’ll have the backing to try to win the game”.

Vllaznia support
"At the end of the day, it’s eleven against eleven. Having the support of your fans is always an advantage as it provides extra motivation, but we’re up for it too. We know it’s a really important competition and we’re improving and developing each day. We want to start well because it’s a very short competition, with only six games”.

Squad
"We’re moving at our own pace, we’re a young team. This is our second involvement in the Champions League, last year we made it to the quarter-finals. We’re improving every year, I think we’re better and our goal is to try to get as far as possible and go should to should with the best”.

Favourites
"We’re here with the best 16 teams. There are teams with more experience and success in the competition, but we have to go into the games with the right mindset and energy”.
“We have to be well prepared and what we do on the pitch will dictate which team deserves to go through to the next round. All the opponents are difficult, but we’ve got a chance”.

K. Robles: "We have to play our own game"
"We’re a team that’s matured a lot. This is the second time for a lot of the players in this competition, which is so exciting and we’re up for it. We’re really looking forward to the start of the game. They’ve won their league and qualified for the Champions League.  They’ll be tough opposition, they’ve got a lot of strong areas and they’re at home. They’re going to try to play to their strengths and we have to hit back and play our own game”.

Attack and defence
"At the top level, games are decided by the small details. We’ve managed to get good results with whoever plays from a squad with 23 players that the coach is rotating, and that’s really important”.
