Toril: “This was our first final and we need to gain experience”
“It's been three incredible years where we've gone from strength to strength”, added Kenti Robles.
Real Madrid lost to Atlético in the final of the Copa de la Reina and after the game Alberto Toril gave his thoughts: “It's a harsh defeat. However, it's our first final and we need to gain experience and at certain moments we need to manage our emotions. We have room for improvement and the next time we are in this situation I'm sure we'll do better. Losing like this gives you a chance to learn and look at it in a different way. We have a lot of young players and they will learn. In the career of an athlete there are always moments like this and you have to become stronger and learn.”
“These are situations in football that happen many times, it will happen again. When you see that you are so close and it slips away. Normally more bad things happen than good things. It's a good time to learn and manage it the best way we can for when we get into this situation again, which eventually will occur. We have the experience and the ability to manage it better.”
K. Robles: “I'm proud of the work we've done all season”
“First of all, congratulations to Atlético. We had the game in our hands, but this is football. I'm proud of the work we've done all season. It's been three incredible years where we've gone from strength to strength. I'm sure it will help us to improve and evolve, to learn. It was a shame, but that's the way it is.”
'Everyone deals with it in the way they feel is most positive. But this is football. Of course we would've loved to win the trophy for the fans and for our families. We've been here for three years, we're improving and we'll keep on working. Real Madrid has no limits, that's the most important thing. We're really looking forward to next year to keep getting better. We learn from everything we go through.”
