Pau Quesada: "It's a special game and the team is ready"
"We're one game away from reaching the final and we're feeling confident," added Misa.
Pau Quesada and Misa spoke to the media gathered in the press room at the Castalia Stadium on the eve of the Spanish Super Cup semifinal against Atlético (7:15 pm CET). Our coach assessed the clash: “It’s a special game. It’s a semifinal, in a magnificent setting and against great opposition. It's got everything in terms of us enjoying the 90 minutes and showing the kind of team we want to be.”
“We have to approach it just the same as we would those games that aren't semifinals, or against rivals where you’re the favourite. Those habits on days that aren’t so high-profile show we’re ready when the games everyone wants to see do come around. The team’s growth happens on a day-to-day basis. We're heading into this Super Cup match with the same pressure, excitement, and intensity.”
The opposition
“Atlético is a team that likes to keep possession. They have tremendous speed up front and will try to exploit the space. It’s a game we need to control very well. We know the demands and ambition of tomorrow’s match. If we manage those aspects well, we can impose our rhythm of play. It will be a very evenly matched game, and the team is ready.”
Misa: “We’re going to give it our all”
“We can't wait for the match to start. It’s a derby, a game where we’re going to give everything. We’re fully focused for tomorrow, which will be a very important day for all of us.”
“We’re one game away from reaching the final. It’s an honour to represent Real Madrid and to be the captain of this team. I’ll be playing my 200th match, and that makes me proud as well. The players are calm and eager for the ball to start rolling. We know we can do even better, and we have the confidence to reach another final, which is very important for us.”
