Victory and league leadership
MATCH REPORT.Alberto Navarro

Real Madrid beat Girona and regained LaLiga top spot. Our team forged the win at Montilivi in four spectacular minutes. Those that elapsed from when Joselu, after a spectacular assist from Bellingham, put Ancelotti's side ahead in the 17th minute until Tchouameni headed home from a corner kick by Kroos to make it 2-0. In the second half, Bellingham sealed the three points in the 71st minute with his sixth league goal of the season. The Englishman stands alone as the competition's top scorer.

The match started at breakneck speed. Girona had two chances to score, both with headers. The first came after three minutes; Yangel Herrera headed over and, in the next, Tsygankov hit the post from Miguel Gutiérrez's cross. From then on, the game changed. Real Madrid took possession of the ball to counteract the home side's thrust and made it 1-0 after a quarter of an hour. The goal came from Joselu, who struck with his first touch from just inside the six-yard box in the 17th minute, but Bellingham's masterful assist with the outside of his right foot had a big part to play. Fourth goal in LaLiga for the striker, who also got on the scoresheet last Wednesday against Las Palmas.

Tchouameni's first goal
The goal gave Ancelotti's side confidence, and four minutes later they extended their lead from a set-piece. Kroos swung in a corner and Tchouameni's precise header beat Gazzaniga to bag his first goal as a Real Madrid player. The third might even have come in the 28th minute when Bellingham was left alone against the home keeper, but Gazzaniga  came out on top. And then, in stoppage time, Vini Jr. won the ball back in the opposition box, laid it off to Kroos and the German's right-footed shot was turned behind for a corner after a great save from the goalkeeper.

The second half started like the first, with two headed chances for the home side. Kepa's great intervention prevented a goal in the 50th minute after David López's header from a free kick and five minutes later it was Yangel Herrera who failed to find the target. Our team responded with a double chance for Bellingham in the 63rd minute. The first shot hit a defender and the second hit Gazzaniga's body.

Second consecutive clean sheet
The Englishman made no mistake eight minutes later. Joselu crossed from a counter-attack that started with a Tchouameni steal and the rebound fell to the striker, who assisted with his first touch for Bellingham to seal the win with his sixth league goal of the season. From then until the end, our team was able to hold on to their lead to finish with a clean sheet for the second game in a row and even had the chance to score the fourth in the 88th minute after a nice individual play by Rodrygo. In stoppage time, Nacho was sent off for a tackle on Portu, in which Pulido Santana first showed him a yellow card and then sent him off after reviewing the play on the monitor.
