Real Madrid claimed all three points against Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Whites had to come back from a goal down and did so with goals from Mbappé, who has now hit 40 this season, and Jacobo in stoppage time. The academy product's first goal for the club could not have come at a better time.

Madrid almost took the lead in the first few minutes. A superb through ball from Arda Güler found Endrick, who was one-on-one with Leo Román, but the visitors' keeper was on hand to deny the Brazilian. Eight minutes later, Mallorca took the lead with a low shot from Valjent from inside the area. Real Madrid countered in the 18th minute with a quick attacking move that Bellingham concluded with a close-range effort that was saved again by the Mallorca goalkeeper.

As the minutes ticked by, Real Madrid continued to push forward with long-range strikes from ModrićMbappé and Valverde that were met by three more superb saves from Román on 37‘, 41’ and 43', respectively. The visitors’ goalkeeper had been pivotal in the first half, and early in the second half Madrid almost equalised when Modrić's volley from the edge of the area narrowly missed the target.

Mbappé levels
The hosts dominated the contest against a Mallorca side who retreated deeper into their own half as the minutes ticked by, with Madrid drawing level in the 68th minute. Mbappé received the ball with his back to the front of the area, spun around, beat Mateu and Valjent in two neat manoeuvres and slotted home past Leo Román at the near post. The Frenchman, who scored his 40th goal of the season, maintains his position at the top of the Pichichi ranking with 28 league goals. The visitors had the chance to retake the lead, but Courtois denied Mateu when the Mallorca man was one-on-one with the keeper.

It was all square and there were still more than 20 minutes left to find a winner. It almost came with two consecutive thunderous long-range shots from Arda Güler, but Leo Román was again on hand to make the saves. Mbappé had a better chance in the 86th minute. The Frenchman picked up the ball inside the box after several rebounds and, with the keeper out of his goal, fired in a shot, but Valjent cleared the ball off the line with his head.

Jacobo grabs the winner
The contest was totally one-sided and Madrid deserved to be ahead. Once again, they came close in the 88th minute. A wonderful pass from Fran García saw Gonzalo shot turn the ball wide from inside the six-yard box. In the added time, Jacobo Ramón popped up to score his first goal for the first team and give Real Madrid the three points.
